Rains boost Midlands dam levels
The incessant rains in the Midlands province have come with a rise in dam levels amid indications that most water reservoirs are likely to fill up this summer.
The Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA) Sanyathi catchment manager Engineer Stanley Nazombe confirmed that most dams in the Province have gone way above 50 percent.
Engineer Nazombe said Amapungugwe dam is currently at 76 percent, Gwenhoro is at 84 percent while Sebakwe which is critical for irrigation purposes is currently 82 percent.
Meanwhile Nyamafufu dam is sitting at 85 percent, with Engineer Nazombe saying most dams are likely to surpass the 100 percent mark owing to the good rains being received this season.
The country is currently receiving good rains, with weather experts forecasting normal to above normal rainfall this summer.
