Ascot stadium deemed unfit to host PSL matches

Gweru located Ascot stadium has been condemned as unfti to host the Premier Soccer League PSL matches this year.

Ascot stadium is among several other stadiums which have also not been certified to host the PSL matches.

ZIFA’S First Instance Body (FIB) which is responsible for stadium inspections gave the greenlight to nine facilities and these are The National sports, Rufaro, Barbourfields, Luveve, Mandava, Gibbo, Baobab and Nyamhunga stadiums.

Gweru-based side Telone will therefore have to play most of its matches away at Mandava stadium in Zvishavane.

Meanwhile, the FIB is expected to submit a detailed stadium inspection report to the PSL and local authorities soon.

An impeccable source said most facilities need to work on their dressing rooms and add showers, add doping rooms, have a press area and work on the pitch to be certified.
