Man murdered in Mkoba 16, as rate of gruesome crimes rises in the city
Residents of Gweru’s Mkoba north suburbs yesterday woke up to a shocking scene of a deceased man who was discovered at the side of a road adjacent to Mkoba 16 shopping centre.
Speaking to Central Radio 95.8, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson inspector Goko confirmed that the case was indeed a murder but no arrests have been made and investigations are currently underway.
He urged Gweru residents and other people with information that can assist the investigations to make use of the ZRP suggestion boxes or visit their nearest police stations.
Legislator for Mkoba constituency Mr Amos Chibaya also visited the alleged crime scene and the local police station where the matter is being handled.
Mkoba 16 shopping centre is now popular for disturbing violence being pepetrated by machete wielding gangs in the area.
The past few months have also seen an upsurge of similar gruesome incidents in the city.
