Midlands Min Mavima leads Gweru development meeting
Government says local authorities have a role to play for the country to realize meaningful development with a framework now in place to ensure devolution of power is realized.
This was said by the Midlands Provincial Affairs minister Larry Mavhima yesterday when he officiated at the launch of a Provincial Development Committee PDC meeting to steer the region’s development for the realization of vision 2030.
City of Gweru mayor Councillor Josiah Makombe appealed to stakeholders for assistance in departments which include water, sewer reticulation and so-forth in order to successfully fight outbreaks of diseases such as cholera and typhoid.
Several committees were formed to assess challenges and possible solutions in the city’s departments which include water, roads, sewer reticulation, spacial planning, education, health, recreation and housing among others.
