Midlands distributes some of its donations in Chirumanzu

Families which were left displaced in Chirumanzu following cyclone Idai received aid yesterday.

Minister of state for Midlands province senator Larry Mavima and the provincial administrator for the province Mr Abiot Maronge toured the area yesterday and assessed the damages which were caused by the disaster.

Speaking to Central Radio 95.8, Mr Maronge said the response from the Midlands province has been great with money, clothes and other forms of goods still coming through.

Mr Maronge said those who still want to make more donations towards the victims of cyclone Idai can take them to the provincial administrator’s office in Gweru and alternatively to district administrators’ offices in their respective locations.

Meanwhile pupils from Mickey Mouse Group of Schools also donated aid towards the cause in Gweru yesterday.

The donations were received by senator Mavima who applauded the school for the donations and said it was important for children to be taught to care for others while they are still young.
